Introducing the super sassy, ultra sweet SUGARZ with her single 'CITY OF LIGHTS'.Produced by Benny Badge, the string-puller behind various other Modern Funk affairs including Freekwency, Nite Class and Silver Linings and recent collaborations with Tom Noble and Magic Touch. Backed by the acidic saturation of Melbourne beatdown weirdo BOOSHANK with his shining B side remix (featured previously on FIRECRACKER RECORDS).Private press vibes on this for the real heads, boogie aficionados, acid house reminiscers and just fans of the left of centre.

Modern soul heartthrob duo steps forth w/deep introspective take on life & love on their 1st official full-length. Musical diversity and range is shown thru uptempo disco-esque jams, slick synth ballads & electro funk to take you into the future.

Limited 1-sided 12" RepressTom Noble teams up with Mystic Pleasure on this must have Superior Elevation 12" issued with the assistance of Peoples Potential Unlimited. If you were one of those that indulged in the Tom Noble edits of "Africa Bump" and "Party Together" for PPU back in 2009, then you know this combination of artist and label equates to dancefloor gold and will need little further wooing to indulge here (PPU have just repressed that 12" for those didn't btw). Everything Noble touches drips with disco authenticity and that's the case here with "Back Door (Gettin Down)" a sublime funk addled floor burner of the highest quality. One Sided and comes hand stamped with the PPU logo.

"Tap Water" is XL Middleton's first full-length LP in the modern funk mode. As with his previous single releases such as "Keep It Funkin" & "Press Play" (with Zackey Force Funk & Eddy Funkster), Middleton seeks to continue building on the links between 80's boogie funk & 90's g-funk, drawing heavily from both wells to create a fresh new sound that pays homage to its blueprints while continuing to progress and innovate at the same time. For the most part, the songs on "Tap Water" avoid the instrumental-only ethos of much of today's funk, instead opting for more traditional song structures, resulting in music with easily relatable content. Whether it's a love song ("I'm Ready"), a lust song ("Psychic"), speaking out on the disposable, trend-obsessed culture of the modern day ("Do Me Like That"), or simply declaring his funk dominance ("Bumpin'"), "Tap Water" is a well-rounded album designed to appeal to anyone from the most discerning funkologist to the more casual purveyor of all things on the one.All songs written by XL Middleton except for "Do Me Like That" written by XL Middleton & Moniquea. All keys, vocoder and programming by XL Middleton.Guitar on "Bumpin'" & "I'm Ready" by Damon Aaron.Guitar on "Sunshine & Power Lines" & "High On Your Love" by Mike Kobayashi.Guitar & talkbox on "You Know It's True" by Diamond Ortiz.

Limited 12" repressA modern Boogie affair. slick and very well turned out three piece ep which could easily have been rescued from 1/4 inch tape tucked away in some early 80's mid-western recording studio We're firmly in PPU territory as the drum machines snap and the funk fuelled bass lines underpin those classic verse / chorus constructions & Soul melodies albeit in dub form Sasac nails the vibe down perfectly with an uplifting jam that rolls along like an endless Pacific coast highway On the flip Witch Doctor's 'Inner Vision' is a smooth and seriously addictive mid-tempo workout, while Golden Ivy wraps it all up with some expertly laid out Dam Funkery

After making waves in collectors circles for several years, the blueprints for this unique record have been kept and craved 'til they can be cradled no more. Suitably diagnosed as a possible '84 Bobby Nunn production (ZAF - Love Vinyl) and potential lost session by Nunn's 70's disco group of similar spelling (Alex Dimitriades); Wax Museum Records have at last shed light on this mysterious boogie 12".The title track 'Oasis Boulevard' (non ashamedly referencing the neon and silk fuelled heyday of 80's Miami) is a blissful drive down memory lane. The same analogue synth and drum machine grime continues on the flip 'Hotline' with the notable appearance of SoCAL's Moni Mendoza on vocals.Rumour has it that executive production was overseen by Benny Badge prior to his early Nite Class and Freekwency records, but of this no one can be 100% certain...

The party don’t stop as production duo Computa Games (NO/SF) continue the ABC tradition, delivering a choice modern funk two-sider on the newest 45 release from Austin Boogie Crew Records. Check!
