Growth is about adaptation, existing in transit, and nourishing flux. It gives us a reason to move on to our next project, challenges us, and feeds our creative hunger.Sona Elango, as the multi-talented Elaquent, captures a catalogue of experiences and feelings that span time zones from over the better part of 2016. Elaquent has created a reflective sound weaving themes of travel and personal growth into the core of his music. Worst Case Scenario is a record with roots in Europe and Japan, inspired by moments of reflection in hostels, airports, and trains. It boasts Elaquent’s growth not only as a beat maker and producer, but as an artist, conscious of peers, music lovers, and strangers alike. He explains how “I wanted it to feel personal and conducive to who I am, but I’ll let everyone deduce what they want about each song. It’s open to interpretation.” Elaquent demonstrates that relative themes have a power that is bigger than ourselves. He manages to hit the bittersweet mark of self-reflection perfectly, reminding us that sometimes the most daunting and intimidating reflections, can secretly be moments of peace and reassurance.“...going on 30, no longer feeling like you’re invincible, everyone is getting married and living a completely different kind of life. I don’t want to get old, wondering whether I did everything in life that I wanted to do. This album, Worst Case Scenario, it’s the idea that if all else fails, I’ll know that at least I was able to do all these amazing things in my life”.Worst Case Scenario is ultimately a public chapter in Elaquent’s life, embodying an unhurried yet vibrant form of personal storytelling. “It’s a soulful and colourful record” he says. “I was in a different mindset, it was a challenge to myself. I wanted to expand on previous concepts, and make a record that is about doing things not just to do them, but because it makes sense”. Unabashedly human, and eager to make it count, Elaquent is a reminder to us all that we’re here for a good time, not a long time.LISTEN : https://soundcloud.com/elaquent/nollieflip-pre-order-new-album-worst-case-scenario               https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T59Zl5PkjGw

This crew don't do things by half! Following the insanely nice Michael Boothman record a few months back - Invisible City Edition descend to even further depths and give us a fully re-mastered issue of this mythical treasure! BIG Limited Edition"For many this is the ultimate Disco Illusion; a record that should have been epoch making in its day, something that would have been a staple for David Mancuso, Larry Levan & Ron Hardy had it ever gotten distribution when it was originally released 34 years ago. Somehow time passed it by and it was only re-discovered in a warehouse in Trinidad last year. Since then it has been gaining momentum fast, with DJ support from Moodymann, MCDE, Floating Points & Kon, as well as original copies selling for four-digit sums. Part of the illusion is in the structure of the record. The A-side begins with beautiful, but relatively normal disco song, but suddenly an Egyptian sounding bridge turns the things inside out and the song opens up into a proto-house jam complete with bubbling Sun Ra synths and Black Ark tape delay action. The there’s the b-side, which sounds like Bob James after he had a taste of callaloo, with deep electronics and a mind-melting steel pan solo. Finally, thanks to Invisible City this record is getting the life it has always deserved. "

The new Mood Hut! One of our favorite new labels and all titles has been rock solid so far! This 5th release is no exception and just like the previous releases its another slice of black wax with sexy and adventurous techno tracks.

After a short hiatus, Eddie C's Red Motorbike blazes back through. We're back to the 7" format for this one, as Eddie splits the release with long time compadre Roberto who rewires a smooth tropical groover with a warm, absorbing low end, marimba noodles and an imaginary palm tree overhead. On the flip Eddie proves yet again why he's one of the best in the business, with a heavyweight Funk strut.
